Welcome to Action Film Workshops!
Action Film Instruction & Professional Production Experience
AFW offers hands-on instruction and practical experience in action filmmaking, with a focus on directing, fight arranging, stunt-player/acting and postproduction. The AFW uses a unique format. Unlike other film workshops, our students receive most of their training through supervised camera studio exercises and on-location production work. Last year's students completed 5 short films in 10 days!
You’ll never be turned loose to work it out alone. The AFW seasoned professionals monitor all exercises and film production. Our student/teacher ratio is 3 to 1!
3 Types of Workshops
The AFW offers 2-week, 1-weekend, and 1-day workshops in North Carolina, New York, Oregon, Wyoming, Hawaii and Maine. Each workshop maximizes its location to offer a different action film experience. Each offers a variety of film styles (Noir, Western, Gothic Romance, Sci-Fi, Slasher, etc.), which are used to showcase action sequences for the AFW short film projects. Sign up for the AFW that works for you!

Professional DVD of Production Work
Each workshop produces a variety of short films and action sequences that are screened at a local theatre as an Action Film Festival. The screenings are open to the public and followed by a Q & A discussion. All students leave the workshops with a DVD of their work.
