An 18th century duel/battle scene using the entire company, which was choreographed by Richard Ryan to demonstrate battle techniques used for feature films, like "Troy" and "The Last Legion."
Every summer the AFW does a melee/fracas/battle scene to test the company's ability to fill the frame with nonstop action (Charlie's Angels, West Side Story, War, Bar Fight). This year we handed Richard Ryan a script and drove him through Old Salem, a beautifully restored 18th century village two blocks from the campus. He had about twelve hours to put the fight together while teaching the Stunt Coordinator techniques he uses professionally to the company. We shot it in three hours and went out for breakfast. "Yes he's that good." Everyone stars in this and it was as much fun as it looks.
