Richard Raether

photo of Richard RaetherDuring the 1980s Richard Raether worked extensively both as a fight coordinator and a stunt performer on numerous daytime television shows including All My Children, One Life to Live, The Guiding Light, Loving, and The Edge of Night.

Richard likes variety and has worked as a director, artistic director, fight director, actor, and teacher. He is currently the artistic director of Artists’ Ensemble, the professional theater company in residence at Rockford College in Illinois. He also continues his freelance career as a fight director and director regionally.

Richard’s work as a fight director has taken him from The Roundabout Theatre, to The Chicago Shakespeare Theatre to The Alabama, Colorado, and Illinois Shakespeare Festivals, to The Guthrie Theater, and many more.

He has taught at such professional training programs as Carnegie Mellon University, Southern Methodist University, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Richard is a member of American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Screen Actors Guild, Society of American Fight Directors, Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, and Actors’ Equity Association.
