Five action films in two weeks!

Two weeks of intense training, full production experience and pure fun.  This workshop draws talented students from Australia, India, Austria, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Canada, England and all parts of the US.  The workshop begins with training exercises that are geared to launch the ten days of production to follow.  5 Film Styles shot on locations in a 100 mile radius around Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Students are housed (housing included in cost) in furnished air-conditioned two bedroom apartments at The Center Stage directly adjacent to UNCSA campus.  UNCSA provides the AFW with rehearsal and performance space, interior and exterior shooting locations, screening rooms and State Police security for the productions.

Enrollment for the 2 Week Workshop is limited to keep the student/teacher ratio at 3 to 1 and to insure the quality of the experience for all participants.  The teachers and staff of working professionals make up the production crew and are always present to turn any production problem into an on location classroom.  Students are always encouraged to “try and fail” but like the real world, the crew is there to maintain the quality of the experience for the rest of the production and participants.

Post-production is ongoing with editing and After Effects instruction, ADR, and Foley Work experience for all students, whether hands on or by demonstration.

The Workshop culminates in a Mini Action Film Festival open to the public with a “wrap party” to follow. The productions are shown in a movie theater on a large screen with surround sound audio to give your work the professional screening it deserves.

Students get a copy of the films and exercises to pull clips from for their production reels.  Digital media is either downloadable from a server or sent via external drive (supplied by student) or DVD (supplied by us).
